NEW LONDON TOWNSHIP UTILITY & SALT STORAGE FACILITY

NEW LONDON, PA

NEW CONSTRUCTION

When GKO Architects was engaged by New London Township to develop a design concept for their proposed New Utility Building, officials emphasized the importance of harmonizing the visual aesthetic of this building to the residential community, and also expressed the desire to have a structure that complemented the character of their Township.

In response, GKO developed a scheme with a stepped roof profile to reduce the visual impact of the massing, the building was partially buried into the site. The selection of materials added to the building’s rural quality. The Township is pleased that the building “blends in” while working well for its primary function.
