MAJOR ADDITION + BUILDING-WIDE RENOVATIONS
Following a comprehensive design competition, Godshall Kane O’Rourke Architects was commissioned by Wallingford-Swarthmore School District to design renovations and additions to Nether Providence Elementary School. The design concept proposed removal of a portion of the existing building while completely renovating the remaining structures, and a 30,000 SF addition, which included a new main public entry and new classrooms.
In order to reduce site improvement costs and simplify the Land Development Approval Process, every effort was made to minimize impact on the existing site. This included retaining portions of existing site elements such as paved vehicular circulation, parking, and ball fields.
